What to Look For in a Wicker Outdoor Dining Set
When shopping for a wicker outdoor dining set, consider these key factors to ensure you get the best value and longevity.
- Material: Choose high-density polyethylene (HDPE) resin wicker over natural wicker for outdoor use. It’s UV-stabilized and waterproof.
- Frame: Look for rust-resistant aluminum or steel frames with a powder-coated finish for extra protection.
- Seating Comfort: Deep, plush cushions with quick-dry foam and UV-resistant fabric make a big difference.
- Size & Shape: Consider your space: round tables are great for intimate settings, while rectangular ones fit larger patios.
- Assembly: Most sets require some assembly. Check if tools are included or if professional assembly is available.
- Warranty: A good warranty (1–5 years) indicates the manufacturer’s confidence in their product.

How to Care for Your Wicker Outdoor Dining Set
To keep your wicker set looking new for years, follow these simple care tips:
- Regular Cleaning: Wipe down with a soft cloth and mild soap solution. Rinse with a garden hose.
- Protect Cushions: Store cushions in a dry place when not in use, or use a waterproof cover.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Bleach or abrasive cleaners can damage the wicker finish.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is wicker outdoor furniture waterproof?
High-quality resin wicker is waterproof and UV-resistant. However, we recommend using covers during heavy rain to protect cushions and extend the life of the set.
Can I leave my wicker dining set outside all year?
Yes, resin wicker is designed for year-round outdoor use. In snowy climates, using a cover and elevating the set slightly can help prevent moisture damage.
How do I clean mildew from wicker?
Mix one part white vinegar with three parts water. Apply with a soft brush, let sit for 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with water.
Are cushions included with wicker dining sets?
Most sets include seat cushions, but check the product description. Some sets offer thicker, more luxurious cushions as an upgrade.
